AI is changing how financial models are built, reviewed and used, particularly in capital-intensive sectors such as energy and infrastructure. As project finance models grow in size and complexity and face more scrutiny, AI offers a way to improve efficiency, consistency and insight. It has to come with sound governance and best practice standards.
“AI is reshaping financial modelling with unprecedented speed and accuracy, but real impact comes from adopting it responsibly. One major focus must be to balance innovation with the risk, compliance, and governance frameworks our industry demands.”
To help practitioners apply AI in a practical, disciplined way, Forvis Mazars APAC Energy offers two connected resources: the AI in project finance webinar and the AI in Project Finance Modelling course.
The webinar
The webinar is an introduction to how AI can be applied across the project finance modelling lifecycle. It looks at real use cases: speeding up the model build, improving review and error detection, supporting scenario analysis and improving documentation. Throughout, it shows AI adding to established modelling judgement rather than replacing it.
The course
The AI in Project Finance Modelling course takes these ideas further, hands-on. Participants learn workflows, tools and frameworks they can apply to live models, with attention to governance, transparency and model integrity. Together, the webinar and the course take you from first use cases to applying AI in your own work.
Who leads them
Both are led by Rickard Warnelid (opens in a new tab) (Partner), Joshua Grimm (opens in a new tab) (Director) and Rael Levinsohn (opens in a new tab) (Associate Director) of Forvis Mazars APAC Energy, who advise on complex project finance and infrastructure models across the region.
