The courses

What runs in London

Seven courses run in London on a rotating basis, more than in any other city, with Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Paris dates for the core programme. Dates above are the source of truth; any course not currently scheduled can be delivered in house or taken online.

FOUNDATION

Best Practice Project Finance Modelling

Build a project finance model from a blank workbook on our globally proven methodology: cash flow waterfalls, debt structuring, scenarios and sensitivities. Two days, and where most participants begin.

ADVANCED

Advanced Project Finance Modelling

Take a transaction from screening to financial close: debt sizing and sculpting, refinancing, DSRAs, covenant monitoring and fully integrated three-way financial statements.

FURTHER

Further Advanced Project Finance Modelling

Two days beyond the Advanced course for experienced modellers: the specialist structures and edge cases that come up on real transactions, taken to a working model.

SECTOR

Financial Modelling for Renewable Energy (EMEA)

One day on wind, solar and storage in European markets: revenue structures, subsidy and contract mechanics, merchant exposure and the debt structures lenders expect to see.

TRANSACTIONS

Financial Modelling for Acquisition Transactions

Transaction models for mergers and acquisitions: deal structuring, funding, returns analysis and the integration of an acquired business into the acquirer’s forecasts.

REVIEW

Financial Model Review in the AI Era

Two days on reviewing someone else’s model: a systematic approach to finding what is wrong, where AI tools help, where they do not, and how to report what you find.

OPERATIONS

Deal Model to Operational Model Mastery

One day on what happens after financial close: rebuilding the transaction model to carry actuals, revised forecasts and stakeholder reporting through the operating life of the asset.

Practicalities

Where, when and how

In person

Open courses in London run from a central London venue with full catering. Sessions run 9am to 5pm UK time over consecutive days. Bring a laptop with a recent version of Excel installed; everything else is provided, and you keep the completed model files.

Online

Every course also runs live online over Microsoft Teams, in the same format with the same trainers, which suits teams spread across the UK and Europe or working from other offices. The calendar invite shows the start time in your own time zone. Online sessions are interactive rather than recorded: you build the model alongside the trainer with individual coaching through each exercise.

Pricing and invoicing

London courses are priced in pounds sterling and shown including VAT, with the figure before VAT beneath. Send an enquiry from any date above to book; we confirm your place and send an invoice for bank transfer.

Groups and in-house delivery

Booking three or more people, or want a course delivered at your offices? Any course can be run privately for your team in London or anywhere in the UK and Europe, built around your own transactions and models. Priced per day rather than per seat, so the economics improve with every additional person in the room.

In-house and private training

Your trainers

Taught by practitioners based in London

Every trainer on the programme is an active modeller. The people teaching the course are the people who audit and build models for live UK and European transactions the rest of the week.

Questions

Frequently asked about our London courses

Who are the courses designed for?

A range of experience levels, from analysts building foundational modelling skills through to experienced professionals applying best practice in project finance and infrastructure. Best Practice Project Finance Modelling is where most people begin; Advanced and Further Advanced assume working modelling experience.

What do I need to bring?

A laptop with a recent version of Excel. Course files, materials and catering are provided for in-person courses; online participants receive the files in advance.

Can a course be run for my team in London or elsewhere in Europe?

Yes. Any course can be delivered privately at your offices, anywhere in the UK or Europe, or online, tailored to your sector, transaction types and internal modelling standards. In-house delivery is priced per day, so it is usually the better option from about six people.
