Reviewing a spreadsheet with parallel computation

Why we see parallel computation, or shadow modelling, as the best end-to-end way to find errors in a spreadsheet, with real examples and a worked case.

Webinar · Recording · Presented by Ryan Humphrey · 9 June 2022

In November 2021 the ICAEW published its thought leadership paper “How to Review a Spreadsheet”. As contributors to the paper, we selected topics we see as particularly relevant and ran a series of webinars through 2022 on review techniques you can apply in practice. This is the second in the series.

Parallel computation, also called shadow modelling in the context of financial models, is the technique behind the spreadsheet reviews our team carries out for clients. This webinar explains why we believe it is the best end-to-end method for finding errors in a spreadsheet. It discusses real examples where parallel computation found errors, then shows how it works through a worked example.
