Sustainable finance matters to many people who model energy and infrastructure, and it reaches well beyond renewable energy projects. To add insight in this area, Mazars partnered with the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) to launch a global Sustainable Finance Policy Tracker, published on the OMFIF website.
Sustainable finance policy during the pandemic
The Covid‑19 pandemic was a wake‑up call for sustainable finance. We saw most organisations put far more focus on embedding sustainability in their business models, and climate stress tests were becoming mainstream in many jurisdictions. Policy was developing quickly, but international regulators were still far from consistent in how they addressed climate change.
One place to compare jurisdictions
The tracker gives our clients one place to follow sustainable finance developments and compare countries.
What the tracker covers
At launch the tracker covered 22 countries and jurisdictions and 14 areas of sustainable finance policy, including:
- Supervisory and regulatory measures on climate risk in the financial sector
- Financial stress testing
- Sustainable taxonomies
- Climate‑related disclosures and green bond issuance
Sustainable finance and renewable energy modelling
Renewable energy generation is one tangible part of the energy transition. If your interest sits closer to renewables, our Financial Modelling for Renewable Energy and Battery Storage course covers how these projects are modelled.
